OUR HISTORY
The canastros, or granary houses, are constructions in stone, wood, and steel, made with the aim of drying and storing the corn cobs; its cracks allow air to circulate freely and its height prevents rodents from attacking. They are very beautiful buildings, but due to technological change, which allows drying and storing corn more efficiently, they have lost their usefulness.
The existing old granaries degrade progressively, erasing an architectural and cultural heritage that is unique in the country. That was why we had the idea of adding conditions to accommodate a family.
We are making efforts to provide the Quinta with constructions that invite adults and children to play together, such as swings, wooden toys, tree houses and others.
Quinta dos Canastros intends to generate a movement favorable to the construction of new canastros, which takes advantage of its beauty and importance (cultural and historical), associating it with a practical use, in this case tourism.
